My Inspirations
For the inspirations for my Magazine cover, I took these two Pakistani Fashion magazine covers because I've always wanted to try fashion photography and this gave me that opportunity. But I specifically chose these covers because I really liked how the Masthead in both were a bit hiden behind the main mode/image and I wanted to try that too.
For the inspiration of my feature articles, I took these inspirations form pinterest and I really liked how both of them had both images and text in them, this made the article more captivating and their layouts were a little different from what I saw everywhere else too. But the best thing I found about these two articles was that both of them are pretty simple yet different and eye-catching.

Rejected and accepted pictures
Rejected Cover Picture.
This pictue was rejected beacause the lighting due to
sunlight was too harsh and so
the picture would've
required more editing.
And the wasn't enough left
above the head for a
headline.
Accepted Cover Picture.
This picture was accepted
because the angle, lighting
was all perfect and the subject was right in the middle of
the frame which indicates
the right use of rules of
thirds.
Rejected Picture.
This was rejected because
the lighting wasn't right and
the framing wasn't right
too. And the picture was
a bit blurry and out of
focus as well.
Accepted Picture.
This picture was accepted
because after some editing
it brought the right focus
on the subject and the framing is better as well.

Evaluation of the Design
Fashion photography is something that I've always been interested in and so here I saw the oppurtunity to do so and fashion magazines are among the most bought magazines so i thought to give it a try!
For the magazine cover I took a picture in which my subject was the main focus so it captivates the readers and where there was enough space above the head for the Masthead. The font used for the Masthead was Bell Mt that was available on photoshop. And to give it more realistic effect I added some cover lines.
And then came the page of contents, I used two pages so I could show some preview images on one page and page numbers with some description on the next, adding the images made the table of contents look more interactive. And I chose different shades of green for the columns as it matched with the greens in the cver image and in my opinion it just sort of brought the magazine together.
For the first feature article I kept it simple, especially the text. I kept the text short, simple and to the point, the fonts used were all from photoshop- Bell Mt, California FB and Bauhaus 93. I posted lots of pictures as examples, insprations relating to the article's content. And the second article of feature is a double-spread article where the image is spread on two pages with some description/text on the side. The fonts used here were also from photoshop itself- they were Arial, Bell Mt and Century Schoolbook. For experimental reasons, I also changed the colours of the text in the body and the title, I picked a brown/maroon-isg color and it seemed to compliment the image really well and made the article look better, more put together.

Learning Outcome
This pre-liminary magazine helped me polish my skills and helped me make a better final product. It gave me the chance the improve the areas in which I was struggling a bit like in the start I wasn't as neat with bringing the Masthead behind the subject on the cover page but this task helped me get better at that. This also gve me the oppurtunity to play with different fonts and colours and gave me a general idea of how to choose the right font and the right placement for the pictures and titles etc.
This activity basically helped me learn about the different elements that make up a magazine and how effectively selecting and placing them in a way that compliments one element with another makes the magazine look better and brings it all together.
